New Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and his staff continue to pull in top high school talent as they tapped back into their Southwest Ohio roots to earn the verbal pledge of West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West safety Ben Minich.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Minich is a multi-sport athlete who went overshadowed by upperclassmen the past couple of years on a talented Firebirds program headed up by head coach Tom Bolden.
The Irish beat out hometown Cincinnati along with Duke and Wake Forest, to name a few.
