It was a career day for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. However, it was for all the wrong reasons, as Burrow posted four interceptions against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 23-20 Opening Day loss.
While it may not have been the day Burrow and Bengals fans expected, they still were able to get in position to pull off a victory, only to see the loss of long snapper Clark Harris to injury put a wrinkle in their usually stellar kicking game with two poor snaps by back-up tight end Mitchell Wilcox taking over for Harris.
Despite the mistakes, Burrow finished 33-of-53 for 338-yards and two touchdowns, Joe Mixon rushed for 82 yards on 27 carries, and Ja’Marr Chase posted 129 yards on ten catches with a touchdown.
After the game, Dave Lapham said the following about the loss and moving forward on In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics.
