After his opening audition on America’s Got Talent, many felt contestant Drake Milligan of Texas was on the fast track to becoming a superstar.

The facts are that Milligan has been around a while despite his young age. After years of impersonating Elvis Presley, Milligan answered a casting call by CMT as they were looking for someone to play Elvis in their TV series Sun Records.

Having watched the miniseries based on the stars that made Sun Records a hit machine, many didn’t place Milligan, the actor, as Milligan a possible megastar in the making.

That changed when Milligan and his band lit up America’s Got Talent stage in early June with “Sounds Like Something I’d Do,” getting praise from all four judges.

Milligan returned to AGT with another original song, “Kiss Goodbye All Night,” with the crowd loving every minute of the performance.

While some may be seeing and hearing Milligan for the first time on AGT, the two songs he’s performed in his appearances on AGT have been on YouTube for several months.

Milligan is not new to competition shows, as he competed on American Idol in 2018 but dropped out of the show, saying he just wasn’t ready.

The move looks brilliant for Milligan and his band, as even Simon Cowell praises Milligan.

If you’ve not seen Milligan and are a fan of Country music with a pop edge, check out the following two videos.
