In a high school program that has sent multiple players to the college level, West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West senior safety Malik Hartford may be one of the best.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound senior is one of Ohio’s top overall prospects and will leave his mark on the program head coach Tom Bolden has built over the last four years.
As a junior, Hartford turned heads with 58 tackles, a sack, and two interceptions, including one for a touchdown. This season teams have tried to stay away from him; however, he’s a major reason the Firebirds are taking a perfect 12-0 record into the third round of the OHSAA playoffs.
This past Friday, DBHuddle.com caught Hartford and the Firebirds in action against Greater Miami Conference rival Princeton. The future Ohio State Buckeye didn’t disappoint with another top performance in the Firebirds’ 35-0 win to advance in Region Four of the playoffs.
