CJ Hester is a player who has dominated during his career at Cincinnati (Ohio) Wyoming High School. As a freshman, Hester rushed for 400 yards on 74 carries with two touchdowns while adding 29 tackles on defense. Those numbers increased as a sophomore when he rushed for 1,121 yards and 17 touchdowns while adding three scores on the receiving end and 57 tackles on defense.

As a junior, Hester rushed for 2,484 yards and 35 touchdowns while adding four receiving touchdowns and 32 tackles on defense. After three weeks of his senior year, Hester continues to show why he’ll have a chance to be a special player at the college level, with 464 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

We’ve watched Hester in live evaluations on multiple occasions during his career. We like his overall ability as he shows excellent balance and the ability to run out of tackles and come out of the backfield to catch the ball. At times he’ll run high, but he’s not afraid to lower his shower to break a tackle. Hester will be knocked for the competition he plays at the high school level, but we feel he’d post solid numbers at any high school in Southwest Ohio and may be one of Ohio’s more underrated prospects.
