Kage Payne comes from a football family as his father played at the college level and is a longtime high school coach. Payne earned his first high school start as a sophomore, and we expect big things from him. While he’s built to be an inside guy (guard/center) at the college level, he’s athletic enough to push out to the edge if needed in high school. Uses strength to win battles but has the feet and some early technique skills to win battles now. Does a solid job pulling, and in pass-pro, shows a solid base; however, at times, he’ll get too much upper body lean and relies on brute strength to keep containment. Must continue working to refine technique but on track to become one of Ohio’s top inside offensive line prospects in the Class of 2025.
