TJ Nelson is the son of former University of Cincinnati basketball player Terry Nelson, TJ brings a combination of high academics and athletic ability to the field. May lack the surrounding cast to show what he can do as a quarterback but put together a solid sophomore season with 1,481 yards passing and eight touchdowns while rushing for 503 yards and nine scores. We had a chance to watch live against one of the top teams in Ohio, Winton Woods, and struggled with constant pressure and questionable play calling. Must continue to add strength but shows good burst when he needs to run the ball and pocket awareness. Added strength should help have a better-thrown ball, as our live evaluation saw several throws lacking the velocity needed to play at a higher level. We like his overall athletic ability and could see some college coaches looking at moving him to another position.
