It was a busy day at Cincinnati Bengals preseason camp as quarterback Joe Burrow returned to the press room and the field taking part in team activities, including 11-on-11 drills.

In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, gives the latest on the day as Burrow worked on lighting up the Bengals defense, hitting favorite target Ja’marr Chase.

Also heating up is the battle between Jackson Carman and Cordell Volson at left guard. How will Frank Pollack handle the battle going into the second preseason game?

Injuries are part of the game; when they happen, they can open doors for players at the back of the roster. One player taking advantage of missing teammates is a local product, Justin Rigg. The Springboro, Ohio native and former University of Kentucky tight end enjoyed a solid showing against the Arizona Cardinals last Friday; now he’ll have to see if he can put a second solid performance on film to push those who are missing time.
