Make no mistake, Centerville (Ohio) junior running back Emable Wakilongo still has a lot of growth as a future college football recruit. However, his season-opening performance against Fairfield opened eyes to the player the 6-foot, 185-pounder can become.
Against Fairfield in his first intensive playing time on the field, Wakilongo rushed for 192-yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns, including a 67-yard score late in the third quarter with his team down 17-14 that seemed to give the Elks a new bounce in their step.
Wakilongo would score again in the fourth quarter on an eight-yard run as Centerville opened the season with a 38-24 win.
Football In Ohio spoke with Wakilongo following the game to learn more about a player we expect to hear more about in the coming months as college coaches learn more about the standout back.
