The great Olivia Newton-John has died after a 30-year battle against metastatic breast cancer.
In the early 70s, Newton-John grabbed attention with songs like “If Not for You,” “Let Me Be There,” and “Have You Never Been Mello.”
However, in 1978, she would take on the role of Sandy in “Grease,” and her performance opposite John Travolta is still watched and enjoyed today.
With songs “You’re the One that I Want,” “Summer Nights,” and “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” Newton-John was starting to hit her peak and roared into the 80s with her biggest hit, “Physical” in 1981, which stayed at #1 for ten weeks.
She is survived by her daughter Chloe Rose and husband, John Easterling, who she married in 2008.
John Travolta posted about Olivia’s passing on Instagram with the following.
John Travolta just posted about Olivia’s passing, saying, “My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!
